Vivid aromas of red fruits, orange zest and
forest floor combine with spice notes from aging in French
oak. Juicy mouthfeel with subtle tannins and flavors of black
cherry, clove and dried roses followed by a long, rich
finish.
Winemaker Notes
Kenwood's 2007 Russian River Reserve Pinot Noir is sourced
from the best barrel lots from our finest vineyards located in the
heart of Sonoma County's Russian River Valley. This cool
region is best known for growing delicate and flavorful Pinot
Noir.
The cool terroir combined with ideal soil make for exceptional
Pinot Noir grapes with distinctive cherry and spice flavors.
The 2007 vintage produced fruit with an excellent natural
balance of acid and sugar. The delicate Pinot Noir grapes
were harvested and crushed with great care, with ten percent of the
grapes undergoing whole cluster carbonic maceration in the
fermentation tanks. This old-world technique enhances the
fruitiness of the wine. Eleven months of aging in new French
oak barrels enhanced the wines depth and complexity.
Food Pairing
This wine is exceptional when paired with pork and lamb
dishes. Salmon, roast duck and light pastas are complemented
by the ripe berry qualities of this delicious Pinot Noir.
