Aromas of pomegranates and sage
are combined with hints of vanilla. In the mouth, firm,
well-structured tannins are complemented by plum and fig flavors
and long finish.

Notes
The Jack London Ranch creates distinctive red wines that have
a loyal following throughout the world. The red volcanic soil
and pleasantly warm climate of this hillside vineyard combine to
produce rich, full-bodied wines. Located on Sonoma Mountain
with an eastern exposure, this vineyard gets early morning sun and
breezes in the afternoons that temper the day's most extreme
heat.
The Syrah at the Jack London Vineyard was picked in early
October and fermented in stainless steel tanks for two weeks before
it was pressed off the skins. It was then settled and racked
several times before being put down into French oak barrels in
early January of 2010. After barrel aging for 19 months, the wine
was pumped out of the oak and prepared for bottling in September of
2011.
