Raspberry
and cherry are predominate in the aroma followed by more subtle
spicy notes of vanilla and cinnamon. Elegant mouthfeel with
rich tannins and a long, rich finish.

Notes
Kenwood's
2009 Russian River Reserve Pinot Noir is sourced entirely from our
own estate vineyards located in the heart of Sonoma County's
Russian River Valley. This cool region is best known for
growing delicate and flavorful Pinot Noir.
The cool
terroir combined with ideal soil make for exceptional Pinot Noir
grapes with distinctive cherry and spice flavors. The low
yield of the 2009 vintage produced fruit with an excellent natural
balance of acid and sugar. The delicate Pinot Noir grapes
were harvested and crushed with great care, with ten percent of the
grapes undergoing whole cluster carbonic maceration in the
fermentation tanks. This old-world technique enhances the
fruitiness of the wine. Eleven months of aging in new French
oak barrels enhanced the wines depth and complexity.
Food Pairing
This wine is
exceptional when paired with pork and lamb dishes. Salmon,
roast duck and light pastas are complemented by the ripe berry
qualities of this delicious Pinot Noir.
